"Wrath of the Gods" is Historiart's companion collection to the licensed print series "Defy the Gods." This collection features original artwork inspired by Greek mythology and the myths that have shaped human culture for over three thousand years.

The collection debuts at Exhibit A Gallery in Los Angeles on July 13th alongside the licensed print series.

Crystal Annette James (known professionally as Cris James) was born in Denver, Colorado, and currently lives and works in Richmond, Virginia. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Denver (2006) and furthered her training at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, following an internship in conservation at the Denver Art Museum in 2006.

Since 2018, James has exhibited widely across the United States and internationally, with group shows at venues including the Las Vegas Museum Gallery of Fine Art, Gallery {9} in Phoenix, BrassWorks Gallery in Portland, Nanny Goat Gallery in San Francisco, the Ann Marie Sculpture Garden at the Smithsonian Institution, and Metamorphosis Art Gallery in Perth, Australia. Her recent and upcoming work includes a solo show at Art Works Richmond, a group showing in the "Myth" exhibition at Modern Eden Gallery, and "Carnival Fabulon" and "Such and Such" at BrassWorks Gallery, alongside a feature in High Fructose Magazine.

James's work has earned numerous honors, including Best in Show at both the Artists Gallery Open Call and the Richmond Art Center Awards (for Midnight Thoughts), Gold and Honorable Mention at Camelback Gallery's Figurative show, and additional recognitions from Women in Watercolor and the Cube Gallery. She is listed in the Beautiful Bizarre Artist Directory and is represented by Nanny Goat Gallery (Petaluma, CA) and Art Works (Richmond, VA).
