Historiart brings The Odyssey to Athens, opening 17 July at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation and running through 2 August, 2026. The exhibition unites two collections in one venue — "Defy the Gods," an officially licensed print series inspired by Christopher Nolan's new theatrical adaptation of Homer's epic, and "Wrath of the Gods," a companion collection featuring original works created exclusively for Athens by Greek artists offering a personal, contemporary lens on their mythological heritage.
Achilleas Mantaios is an honors graduate of the Athens School of Fine Arts. He is also a graduate of the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a Bachelor’s degree in New Media Technology and Fine Arts from Middlesex University, UK.
He has worked as a drawing and visual arts instructor in various educational institutions. He has taught in secondary education and currently runs a drawing preparation studio in central Athens. His work has received awards and distinctions in Greece and abroad, including medals in sculpture and miniature exhibitions.
